#1: Use HDMI cables with your existing computer or laptop.

Many projectors today are equipped with HDMI ports; however, many computers still use VGA ports instead. If this is the case, then you will need an adapter to complete the connection.

It's important to select an adapter that retains the same resolution and refresh rate of your original screen. Make sure there are no power cables or other features attached before purchasing your adapter (these will not work). Also, make sure you check that the connection type is the same between your projector and computer.

Once you have all of this information, check the ports on your computer to find out if any of them support VGA. If they do, connect your adaptor to this port and then plug in your projector.

Next, make sure your VGA is enabled by navigating to "Control Panel" in "Start Menu > Settings" or by clicking on the start button and typing "Control Panel" into search bar at bottom of screen. Once open, click "Hardware and Sound", then click on "Display". This will take you to a new window with a list of settings that can be changed.

 Look for "Projector" and check the box next to it. If you don't see this option, then click on "Advanced settings" and check the box next to "Show disconnected displays." Click apply, reboot your computer and it should work.

Alternatively, if you're using a laptop or tablet, turn your device on its side (which will make the screen appear sideways) and follow these steps: Go to Settings > Projection > Enable Projecting To This Display.
